A long motorcycle journey from Mumbai towards Bastar ended in a heartbreaking tragedy. Riddhi Thakkar, a 24-year-old biker from Mumbai, died after a trailer collided with her motorcycle in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district.

Riddhi Thakkar was travelling with a group of 22 other women when the accident happened near Marka Tola village on NH-30.

The group had set out from Mumbai for a motorcycle ride towards the Bastar region. The journey was underway when Riddhi’s bike was involved in a collision with a trailer near Markatola Ghat in Dhamtari.

She suffered serious injuries in the crash. An emergency call was made to 112, following which she was taken to a health centre in Charama for treatment.

The situation later became critical, and Riddhi was shifted to a private hospital in Dhamtari. Doctors subsequently confirmed that she had succumbed to the injuries sustained in the accident. Her body was then moved to Dhamtari district hospital for post-mortem formalities.

Police Investigation Underway After Fatal Trailer Collision

Police have registered a case and are questioning members of the group who were travelling with Riddhi. The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are still being investigated.

The incident has also highlighted the risks motorcycle riders face while travelling on highways alongside heavy vehicles. Officials are examining how the trailer and Riddhi’s motorcycle collided before determining the precise sequence of events.

The sudden loss has left the fellow riders who were travelling with Riddhi facing an extremely difficult end to what was meant to be an adventurous group journey. The Dhamtari civic administration has also offered assistance to her family.
