The music world is mourning the loss of legendary singer Asha Bhosle, who passed away on April 12 after battling a chest infection and exhaustion. With a career spanning over eight decades, her voice became the soul of countless songs, and her absence has left a deep void in the industry.

Singer and politician Babul Supriyo shared a heartfelt tribute, recalling beautiful memories with “Asha Didi.” What made his post even more emotional was the fact that just a day before her passing, he had apologised to her on Instagram, writing, “Maaf kar dena Didi…”. The apology came after he used AI technology to recreate her original voice for his new track Inteha 2.0, a remix of the iconic song composed by Bappi Lahiri.

Babul remembered her not just as a legend but as a warm and caring person. From sharing stages since 1996 to receiving guidance on everything from singing to dressing, Asha ji played a big role in his journey. He fondly shared how she once advised him to ditch formal suits and go for casual outfits to suit his age—something that instantly boosted his confidence.

He also spoke about her discipline, revealing how she never skipped her riyaz and believed in deeply understanding lyrics before recording.

Ending on an emotional note, Babul said that while the person Asha Bhosle will be deeply missed, her timeless songs will live on forever in our hearts.
