The controversy around Kushal Tandon, Shivangi Joshi and Shreya Kalra has taken another turn. After Shreya’s claims about his past relationship with Shivangi, Kushal has now given his side of the story.
While currently appearing on Alliance, Kushal addressed the allegations and strongly denied that Shreya had anything to do with his breakup with Shivangi.
Kushal Tandon Says Shreya Kalra Was Not The Reason Behind His Breakup
The controversy began after Shreya spoke about her interaction with Kushal during her time on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa. She had alleged that Kushal flirted with her while he was reportedly in a relationship with Shivangi Joshi and suggested that the situation was connected to their eventual split.
Kushal has now completely rejected that version. Recalling their first meeting, he explained that it happened during the promo shoot of Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka, where Shreya had a brief passing shot.
He maintained that their interaction was limited to a normal conversation on set and that Shreya later sent him a thank-you message on Instagram. Kushal said he responded by encouraging her to aim for better opportunities.

Kushal further claimed that there was no continued communication between them after that interaction. He specifically denied ever sending Shreya DMs or flirting with her.
Taking his response a step further, the actor challenged Shreya to publicly show the alleged messages if she has screenshots proving that he flirted with her. He also questioned whether their conversation ever went beyond the brief exchange he described.
His response comes after the controversy gained attention following Shreya’s statements, while Kushal’s sister had earlier also urged people not to judge him based on only one side of the story.

Kushal and Shivangi’s relationship became a major talking point after they worked together in Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka. Kushal later confirmed that the two had separated, but neither had publicly detailed the reason behind their breakup.
Now, Kushal’s latest statement makes one point clear: he does not accept the claim that Shreya Kalra was responsible for his split with Shivangi Joshi.
